This is one of the prime must-visit clothing-optional places to visit in California. It is a bit of a hike with a couple possible routes. The shortest is from Bowen Ranch, about 45 minutes to an hour.
This is a day-use area only and no overnight camping is permitted. At Bowen Ranch you will pay a small entrance fee. The road is very bumpy and rocky. From the trailhead, it is a fairly easy 2 mile hike downhill to the Mojave River and the adjacent hot springs. The descent is a steep hill and is sandy in areas. There are several pools to choose from. Clothing is optional.
