Brighton made some seaside history on April 1 1980 when it first opened its naturist beach, the first public naturist beach in the United Kingdom. It is still Britain's most accessible Naturist Beach and is within easy walking distance of central Brighton. It is accessible via buses 7 and 2, which link Brighton Station with the main coastal road above the promenade.
