A black sand beach often with good waves for surfing. Clear clean water. 30 minutes drive from Christchurch CBD. Hobson's Bay is a small beach adjoined to the popular public beach of Taylor's Mistake. To the left of the main beach there is usually a small group of naked people here throughout the summer. The spot loses the afternoon sun earlier than the main beach.
