Marmara Beach Beautiful pebbly beach near Loutro Loutro, Crete Heraklion, Greece 73011
Nudists have a hard time resisting the smooth, flesh coloured rounded marble stones and interesting cave-pocked coastline of this stretch of beach at the bottom of the Ariadne Gorge, an hour's walk west of Loutro.
Marmara Beach is an amazing secluded small pebbly bay. It is the beach where the ramblers of Aradena Gorge rest before continuing their course to Loutro.
The name Marmara means "marbles" and is named after the soft colorful rocks and sea caves, that are the most striking feature of the place. The beach is walking distance from the closest inhabited beach of Lykos as well as Loutro.
During the summer there are daily boats from Loutro. Once in the Loutro area, visiting Marmara and hiking in the forge of Aradena is highly suggested.
