Easily accessed from highway 395, Travertine Hot Springs is one of the Eastern Sierra's most popular geothermal spots to soak. Visitors will be rewarded with stunning views of the Sierra. The waters are relaxing and the floors of the pools are lined with travertine mud, well known for its health properties. A natural spring sends hot water to the surface and separates into small pools of various temperatures. Be sure to continue down the path past the washrooms for three smaller natural pools. The springs can be quite popular during the cooler months, so be prepared to share a tub. The road to Travertine is not well marked so pay attention to map directions.
