Naked European Walking Tour (NEWT) 2021 A week of naked hiking in the alpine mountains Austrian Alps Waidhofen, Niederosterreich, Austria
Originating in Austria, this annual one-week, naked hiking event in the alpine mountains is attended by men, women and children from several countries and has been ongoing since 2005. Be aware that the 2021 hike is already fully booked and further registrations are not being taken. To participate in 2022, you should check the website early, contact the relevant group leader and register well in advance. Groups typically use static huts, where many facilities are found, as well as mobile tents where each group member is much more self-sufficient, in both cases pooling together for main meals. Routes are in mountainous terrain, but typically include shorter and longer routes for different abilities. Naked hiking is done as much as possible with allowances for such things as walking through villages or guesthouses. Participants are urged to recognize that photographs of the hikers are taken and published. Permission is not required for photographs, so it is the responsibility of camera-shy participants to duck out of sight if a camera appears.
